As of 12:01 am November 16, 2020, the City of Hamilton officially entered the Red “Control” category within the Provincial COVID-19 Response Framework. In addition, the OWHA, as our Provincial Sport Organization, has noted that associations within the Red Control category are limited to training sessions only (no games/scrimmages) with a maximum of 10 participants on-ice (including coaches). Subsequently, on November 18, 2020 the City of Hamilton announced that it is enforcing only 10 patrons max in a City facility. While in Red Control Phase, the OWHA allows only 10 participants on the ice with no scrimmages and games allowed.
As a result of these local changes, all AAGHA team programming is on pause effective Nov 19, 2020 12:01 am. The 2020-2021 hockey season is divided into 3 non-refundable phases and updated accordingly below.
Development Phase 1 - Sept 8-27th - Phase complete
Development Phase 2 - Sept 28th - Oct 18th - Phase complete
Revised Development Phase 3 - Oct 19th until TBD (currently Suspended pending changes to Provincial and Public Health restrictions and Return to Skate protocols).
The AAGHA will be adjusting the programming as needed. Programming will resume once restrictions have been changed by the City of Hamilton, the OWHA and the Province.
We will continue to update our membership to communicate any further changes in programming. Thank you for your patience, commitment, and support.
