U18BB Tier 2 Coaching Announcement: 2026-2027
The Ancaster Avalanche Girls Hockey Association is excited to welcome back Tannis Gunell to the U18 division for the 2026-2027 season.
Tannis has been a dedicated member of the Ancaster Avalanche Girls Hockey Association for 9 years, serving as a Trainer, Assistant Coach and Head Coach across divisions from U7 through U18.
She is committed to developing competitive athletes while emphasizing teamwork, fun and enjoyment of the game. Her coaching philosophy is rooted in long term participation in sport: “If the girls are still playing hockey and involved in sport at my age, then mission accomplished.”
Outside the rink, Tannis is Physical and Health Education teacher with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, where she is actively involved in coaching a variety of teams and creating meaningful opportunities for students to engage in sport and physical activity.
She is passionate about helping girls grow through sport and see themselves as leaders both within hockey and beyond. We wish Tannis and the team the best of luck in the 2026/2027 season!
