AAGHA Registration – 2025–2026 Season

Building Strong Players, Strong Teams, and a Strong Community — Join the Avalanche this Season!

We are excited to welcome players back for another great year of girls’ hockey!

With so many players joining us, registration limits are set for each division to guarantee space, build balanced teams, and keep the game fun and fair.

Following the OWHA roster guidelines, once a division reaches capacity, a waitlist will open. The AAGHA will monitor registration closely and, if possible, add spots by creating additional teams.

If your division is full, be sure to register for the waitlist — there is no cost, and this secures your players place in line.

Program Options

  • House League (HL): Balanced teams with weekly practices and games.

  • Development Stream (DS): Additional competition for House League players, starting December.

  • Representative (Rep): Competitive teams selected through tryouts each April.

  • Instructional Program (IP): Foundational skills for younger players; runs weekly.

  • First Shift: A beginner-friendly program including FULL Bauer equipment and structured development.

Key Dates & Season Start

  • Rep Tryouts: Held in April, following OWHA Provincials. Pre-tryout skate registration 

  • House League Evaluations: Begin mid-to-late September, followed by scrimmages.

    • September 6th and 7th 2025 (Morgan Firestone Arena)* by division

    • Purpose is to develop fair and balanced teams

  • House League Practices: Start late September/early October (depending on ice allocation).

  • House League Games: Begin the week of Thanksgiving (October).

  • Instructional Program (IP): Runs once weekly from Thanksgiving week through March Break.

  • Development Stream (DS): Teams selected in mid-November, games begin in December.

  • First Shift Program:

    • Registration opens June 2, 2025.

    • Welcome Event: November 20, 2025 (Morgan Firestone Arena, 6–8 pm).

    • Ice Sessions: Begin November 22 at Spring Valley Arena, Saturdays 1–2 pm for 6 weeks.
