Hi there! I'm Kevin Koslowski, Head Coach of the Ancaster Avalanche U15B team. I grew up in the small town of Port Dover, just 40 minutes from Ancaster. I played all my minor hockey there, and at age 16, I started playing Junior hockey with the Port Dover Clippers Jr. C team. I went on to play a brief stint in Jr. B for the Ohsweken Golden Eagles at 19 years old, but juggling college and Junior hockey became too much of a challenge, so school took priority.
To this day, at age 47, I still play organized men’s league hockey—just at a slower pace than I used to! I have two daughters involved in hockey, ages 7 and 13, and a beautiful wife, Lindsay, who is always in the stands cheering all of us on!
My main coaching philosophy is to keep hockey fun while showing my players that results come from hard work and determination. I aim to create meaningful practice plans that build on my players’ existing skills. A wise man once told me that teams must learn how to lose before they can understand how to win—and I believe this to be true not only for the players, but for the coaches as well.
I look forward to a fun and successful 2025/2026 season, and to watching new relationships develop among players, coaches, and parents alike.
Highlights of the past 2024–2025 season:
Last season, my coaching staff and I took 11 house players and 5 rep players (4 of the 5 were minors) to a new level! Our final record in U13B was 70 games played, with 46 wins, 16 losses, and 8 ties. This included exhibition, regular season, tournament, playoff, playdown, and provincial tournament games.
We finished 5th in the regular season, made it to the second round of playoffs, finished first in our playdown loop, medaled in two of four tournaments (Silver in the Flamborough tournament and Gold in the Hamilton tournament), and—our greatest accomplishment—won our pool and finished in the top 8 teams out of 32 at the OWHA Provincial Tournament in April 2025.
