About Us

The Ancaster Avalanche Girls' Hockey Association was formed in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted the same local opportunities for competition, team building and friendship for their daughters that hockey has traditionally provided for their sons.

Since icing that first U9 team, our association has grown to encompass girls from ages 6 to 21 and competitive levels from House League to AA Rep.

We embrace each achievement, no matter how large or small, as the success it is, but never lose sight of the fact that there are always more things to learn and taller heights to reach.

Our association has seen many changes, but we continue to strive toward our goals of attracting the best coaches, developing all of our players and bringing community-oriented hockey to each and every girl in Ancaster and our local area. Girls in our Association come from Ancaster, Hamilton, Dundas, Flamborough, Stoney Creek, Brantford, Burlington, Guelph and Haldimand.
