Hockey has always played a central role in my life. I played through all levels of minor hockey, from House League through to AAA. At 14 I began playing Jr A as an AP and at 15 was added to the Jr A roster full time. I was drafted to the OHL and made it through camp but declined the offer in favour of some NCAA scholarship prospects. When the time came, I made a couple of recruitment visits down south only to realize I didn't want to move that far from home and chose to stay and play Varsity hockey in Ontario.
Throughout my playing years, I worked as a hockey instructor at Varsity Hockey School and found genuine enjoyment in that role. The lessons learned there were extremely valuable, especially when motivating and teaching players at a competitive level. I also began coaching multiple sports at that time, including rep hockey, basketball, and baseball. In more recent years, my coaching involvement with AAGHA and AMHL has been a wonderful way to stay involved with hockey while supporting my kids' teams. My goal as a coach is to ensure each player ends the season with increased skill, further understanding of the game, and a greater passion for hockey.
There is no sport like hockey and I hope all of my players play for life.
